FINDING OUR WAY IN THE DARK
An invitation to meet the Cailleach
A Darkness Walk at Avalon Acres
Wednesday, Nov 8th, 5:30 PM–8 PM
Many call her the Oldest Land Goddess on record. She remembers the time before time…

Others know her as the Hag of Winter. Ancient bands of Celts were afraid of her power to conjure storms, rain, lightning, wind.
Some say she howls like a Banshee, prefers the company of deer, wolves and crows, is a giantess with a hammer that she definitely knows how to use. Folktales abound in Ireland, Scotland and Wales of her prowess, easily stepping over mountains and flying through the air. There is no realm in which she is not comfortable.
Her looks? Repulsive. Her reign? In the Dark time, as the temperatures drop and the land freezes solid. She knows what you dream about, and is willing to take you down, down, down into the forest of imagination.
She is ephemeral. Shadows and stars are her bed fellows. She is more than ready to re-acquaint us all with Darkness, with the coiled-up riches within the body and soul, within the EARTH.
SHE IS the CAILLEACH and her bony finger is pulling us closer to her cauldron.
At this special circle you will:
- Learn about one of the oldest Land Goddesses of the British Isles, the Cailleach
- Be guided by firelight to connect with your inner Cailleach
- Take a Darkness Walk to a secret forest altar
- Listen attentively to what is calling you from the deep, dark caverns of your wisest self
- Be treated to a specially brewed Cailleach tea from Element Wild Alchemist, Jacqueline Boudreau
Nine Pillars is co-leading this very sacred circle with fellow shamanic practitioner and medicine woman, Jacqueline Boudreau, owner and founder of Element Wild. Mary Katherine and Jacqueline have a deep resonance with the Goddesses of Ireland and Scotland, specifically, Brigid and the Cailleach. If you are remotely intrigued with Celtic story-telling, re-wilding yourself, or the Divine Feminine, this offering is for you!
COST: Sliding scale, $33- $53 To register, send your preferred amount to PayPal, Venmo or Zellie [email me if you’d like to receive the QR code for Zellie transactions ]
**NOTE: This event is not meant to appeal to everyone. If you’re looking for something fun, check out the PRINCE DANCE-A-THON on 11/25. If you are interested in the Darkness Walk, you will need to be able to confirm that you are physically fit to walk at least 1 mile in relative darkness (with a small flashlight!)
