Mary Katherine is a certified Reiki Practitioner in Levels I and II and was attuned by Libby Barnett, Usui Reiki Master, in December of 2013. She has studied shamanism and shamanic healing with Dory Cote since 2006, completing the 2-year Shamanic Initiations Program led by Dory and Barbara Bloecher, a shamanic teacher and practitioner in Kentucky. She has studied weather shamanism with Nan Moss and Black Moon Lilith astrology with Terry Morgan. For many years (2012-2019) Mary Katherine led a monthly circle, The Confluence, whose members are dedicated to a more harmonious spiritual correspondence with Mother Earth. In 2023, she created the sharing and witnessing circle, Wise Women Talking with her co-guide, Nancy Cole, at Avalon Acres. In May 2022, Mary Katherine attended the Art of Council and Mirroring training in Vermont offered by Animas Valley Institute and continues to study with various shamanic teachers in Maine, North Carolina, Kentucky and England.

To nurture and challenge her creative energies, Mary Katherine is also a writer and earned her MFA from the Stonecoast Writing Program through the University of Southern Maine. She works at the University of New England as a Writing Specialist in the Student Academic Success Center as well as coaches writers in fiction and non-fiction.
