During our time together, you will learn the techniques of crafting a beautiful wand and gain insight into the symbolism behind each component.
This Sacred Feather Wand Making Class goes beyond just a creative outlet. It provides a space for self-reflection and personal growth. As you carefully select feathers, crystals, and other materials for your wand, you will be encouraged to consider their significance and how they align with your intentions.
When creating a ceremonial feather tool/wand, one must approach the process with reverence and respect. What You Can Expect
- All materials are provided. Feathers included are Turkey, Goose, Pheasant, Chicken, several Tropical birds, and more! You are also invited to bring your own special feathers or materials to add to your wand.
- Please note that all feathers should be cured in borax for approx 4 weeks prior to class, ensuring they are parasite free.
- If you have found feathers in nature, please be mindful and always “ask” that bird’s spirit if they are yours to work with. This is “medicine” that has been gifted to you.
- To learn more about the birds and their medicine, we will have Ted Andrew’s book Animal Speak available for guidance, as well as books on crystals to guide your choices and provide insight.
- If you have a favorite stone, beads, wood, or amulets you wish to incorporate, please bring them. Antlers, bone, sticks, stones, etc. will be available for the handles or bases of your wand.
- Ceremonial space will be invoked to provide a sacred container for creating your tools. You will be smudged to begin the day, along with all materials. We will sit in meditation with the materials and all shall be made with prayers and blessings to activate the spirit and power of your tools.
- We will discuss the making of feather wands and their uses for energy clearing and extraction work, blessings, prayer work, and so much more. A demonstration and guidance will be offered to support you in making your own unique feather wand.
- Herbal tea and a light vegan/vegetarian lunch will be provided.
- Feel free to bring water or any snacks of your liking. If you would like to bring a snack to share, that is also welcome.
- Wear comfortable clothing, and please be as scent free as possible.
